Resilience and aspiration get the Y9 and 10 girls handball team into the finals of the London Youth Games!

This evening our Year 9 and 10 handball team competed in the final eliminator for the London Youth Games finals. They came up against a tough and powerful team from Spring West Academy. The first half was very tight with both goal keepers making some fine saves, keeping the game tied 0-0.

The second half began and Spring West took the lead  early in the half. The girls showed all of their resilience and aspiration and quickly were back on the attack and scored through Hannah Rowe after some fine build up play. As the half progressed Hampton High grew in strength and quickly built a lead with goals from Hannah and Beatrice. The left back for Spring West scored to bring them back into the game and the tension grew as Jessica was forced into some difficult saves. The girls held on to win 5-3 and go through to join the under 13's boys in the final 8's which is the London finals.

Squad; Oneda Uka, Beatrice O'Riordan, Rosie Panette, Sophie Eiloart, Jessica Rowe, Hannah Rowe, Karolina Bartyzel, Elisa Puka.

Tomorrow our Key Stage 3 badminton girls compete in the final qualifier at Westcroft Leisure Centre in Carshalton.
