Art students collaborate with artist Karen Kelly to create mosaic

The art department have been lucky enough to work with school parent Karen Kelly on producing a beautiful mosaic to feature within the school.

Year 7, 8 and 10 art students all have had an opportunity to work on the mosaic over the last 6 months, from designing the piece to creating the overall finished mosaic. The mosaic was based around the school logo idea of birds. Students initially created bird collages which were enlarged to create the final piece using ceramic tiles. The students really enjoyed the experience and it has now been hung outside the school for all students and staff to see.

The art department would like to say a huge thank you to Karen for all her work on the mosaic. It has made such a difference to the school and really brightened up the outside space.
